DESCRIPTIONS OF OUTREACH EVENTS
ACT Workshops
One-day workshops designed to prepare students for ACT test in areas of Math and Science. Facilitated by New Student Programs, DEM and Academics to be offered numerous times throughout the school year leading up to ACT testing dates.
HerWorldTargeted at young women, this conference is designed to educate and excite high school girls about rewarding careers in the fields of technology and business. Through discussions and hands-on activities, participants will be challenged to employ creative-thinking skills in a team-based environment.
JAVA Programming Competition16 year competition offered on DeVry-Addison campus. Competition held for interested HS students and teams to particiate on our campus in the different areas of Programming.
Passport2CollegeDuring the summer, DeVry University offers high school students the opportunity to earn complimentary college credit before they enter their junior or senior year of high school, through tuition, books and fees-waived course. Classes meet for five weeks on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. More information about the SUMMER 2012 Passport2College program will be avalable in the Spring of 2012.
Skills USA
Addison Outreach and Academics have continually sponsored and judged at the annual “Skills USA” competition in Springfield. Two ½ tuition scholarships are offered locally to top-raking senior competitors.
Start Now
Complimentary introductory courses for college credit are offered periodically to high school students who have registered to start at DeVry University for an upcoming term. Students can enroll in up to two college level courses offered on weekday evenings or Saturday to earn credits towards earning a college degree from DeVry University.
